John P. Mabry, Jr. is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization – a distinction held by less than 2% of all Texas attorneys. John graduated from Baylor Law School in 1995 and earned his board certification in 2001. John has been Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has an “AV Preeminent” rating which is given to attorneys who are ranked at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards by their peers. John is also a certified mediator and has satisfied all training requirements to serve as a court appointed mediator in accordance with Section 154.052 of the Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code, the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association, and the Texas Mediation Trainers Roundtable. John has handled cases all over Texas, tried dozens of cases to verdict, and participated in hundreds of mediations.

John also served his community as a State Representative from McLennan County in the Texas House of Representatives. In an open ballot election, the 150 member Texas House selected Rep. Mabry as one of two “Co-Freshman Member of the Year” of the 78th Legislature from the 37-member freshman class. He was also recognized as one of the “Top 5 Freshmen” by Capitol Inside online political magazine. While in the Legislature, Rep. Mabry was a member of the House Committee on Corrections and the House Committee on Defense Affairs & State-Federal Relations.

Before John formed the Mabry Lewis Law Firm, L.L.P. in 2011, he was a partner at Dunnam & Dunnam, L.L.P, one of Waco’s oldest and most respected law firms. John joined the Dunnam firm in 1998 and became a partner in 2006. He began his law career in 1995 with Touchstone, Bernays, Johnston, Beall & Smith, L.L.P. in Dallas, Texas as an insurance defense lawyer. John was twice named a “Rising Star” by TexasMonthly in its Texas Super Lawyers edition, and has been recognized as a “Champion of Justice” by Texas Watch. John is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts and the United States District Court, Western District of Texas. He is a member of the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association and is a past director of the Waco-McLennan County Young Lawyers Association.

John’s wife, Stephanie Mabry, is the Director of Development for the Baylor Law School and they have two children.

John L. Lewis has been protecting the rights of Central Texans since he began his legal career in 1998 in Waco, Texas. John is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and is a member of the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association.

John has a broad law practice that includes personal injury, wills and probate, real estate, corporate formation, and business transactions. John has handled hundreds of personal injury cases during his career including trucking accidents, car wrecks, and premises liability cases. As a former licensed real estate agent, he understands the complexities of real estate transactions and frequently guides his clients through the purchase or sale of property from preparing contracts and deeds to closings. John’s probate practice includes drafting and probating wills and contesting wills that do not pass muster. John is skilled at forming business entities, like limited liability companies (LLC’s), for his clients and he has represented many local businesses and banks over the years.

John is a native Central Texan and graduated from Waco High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi and a Juris Doctorate degree from Baylor Law School. John and his wife, Ginna, live in Waco, and have two daughters, Caroline and Margaret, who attend college.
